Professors Sabiston and Welsh are hiring a postdoctoral research fellow (PDF) to lead collaborative, multidisciplinary research (SSHRC-funded) that explores the relationship between body image and motor performance. The successful candidate will work with the investigators and a team of graduate students and undergraduate research assistants. The successful candidate will lead a series of studies designed to understand the way perceptual, affective, cognitive, and behavioral body image factors influence motor control, adaptation, and learning. A further interest is in affective responses to physical activity and physique salient media.  The successful candidate may be given the opportunity to conduct additional interest-driven projects that are consistent with ongoing work in the labs of Professors Sabiston and Welsh (e.g., projects related to the topics of mental health and physical activity, joint action, attention, and/or affective responses to physical activity and physique salient media) and/or that integrate psychological and biobehavioral data.
