Sensorimotor Exploration Lab Post-Doctoral Fellowship (Connected Minds)
The Sensorimotor Exploration Laboratory at Queen’s University is recruiting a 2-year Post-
Doctoral fellow to work on a multi-disciplinary project through the Connected Minds Post-Doctoral Fellowship Opportunity. The project will be supervised by Dr. Gerome Manson
(Kinesiology and Health Studies) and Dr. Matthew Pan (Electrical and Computer Engineering) in
collaboration with researchers at Queen’s Department of Psychology and Providence Care
Hospital. The project aims to examine the links between sensorimotor and memory systems in
neurologically healthy individuals and individuals with memory deficits. Experiments will use a
combination of robot-guided movement, behavioural tasks, and neuroimaging to understand the
role of active and passive movement in the encoding and retrieval of episodic memories.
Potential candidates will have a background in Kinesiology, Rehabilitation, Biomedical
Engineering, Psychology, or Neuroscience. Experience conducting research with human
participants is required. Experience with electroencephalography (EEG) and programming
languages (Python, R, MATLAB) is considered an asset. Applicants will work within a
multidisciplinary team and will also have the opportunity to immediately engage in
undergraduate supervision, scientific publications, grant writing, and outreach initiatives.
To apply, please send a cover letter and C.V. to gm99@queensu.ca with “CM-Post-Doctoral
Fellowship Application” in the subject line. The cover letter (1-1.5 pages) should outline your
experiences, future ambitions, and why you are interested in working in our lab. Applications will
be accepted until September 13th, 2024. Details about compensation can be found here:
