The Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in the field of Kinesiology to commence on July 1, 2023 in our Kinesiology program.  Position is subject to budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at the undergraduate/graduate level in the Kinesiology Program. Ontario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment and the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and to model those skills in their own teaching in the University’s web-centric and mobile learning environment.

Ideally, applicants should already hold a PhD in Kinesiology/Physical Education, although consideration will be given to those candidates nearing completion. The preferred candidate will be able to teach in one or more of the following domains:  sociocultural aspects of physical activity/sport, ethics, indigenous health and physical activity, pedagogy for sport and youth, and psychology of sport and exercise.  Candidates should also be able to demonstrate a breadth of understanding of the field to support instruction in Kinesiology foundation/capstone course[s].

Applicants should possess a strong academic background and demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions. In addition, candidates should possess excellent English language skills demonstrating an ability to ensure strong, two-way communications on an ongoing basis that contribute to collaborative/collegial relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.

The successful candidate will be expected to follow a 70% Teaching, 20% Service and 10% Other workload each year.
