The relationship perfectionism and coping strategies with burnout in soccer

Abstract

Aim:The purpose of present study was to determine relationship perfectionism and coping strategies with burnout in soccer players. In this research, sample was 60 soccer players that selected by random sampling. Method: Using of correlation, data collected by questionnaires of perfectionism, coping strategies and burnout, and analyzed by tests of regression and T-student. Finding: The results showed significant relationship among perfectionism and coping strategies with burnout in soccer players and explained %71/7 variance of burnout. As such, the findings showed that only there is significant relationship between problem-solving, distance-seeking and responsibility. And preferential perfectionism of soccer players was negative. Conclusion: These findings provide some evidence to suggest that interaction of perfectionism and coping strategies explain burnout by cognitive -behavioral mechanisms.
