Membership Information

SCAPPS generally offers two tiers of membership: 1) Professional and 2) Trainee

1) Professional membership is for individuals who are engaged in the study, the practice, or the marketing of psychomotor learning, motor control, motor development or sport psychology but are not currently enrolled in training related to the field. Academic faculty and other professionals fall into this category

2) Trainee membership is for individuals who are enrolled full or part time at a recognized university in a program of study in psychomotor learning, motor control, motor development, or sport / exercise psychology. Current undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows fall into this category.

SCAPPS membership is valid on a calendar basis and expire March 31 each year. Renewals begin April 1 each year and membership can be renewed at any time.

3) A “Life Membership” is a prestigious membership type bestowed upon SCAPPS fellows (who have made significant contributions to SCAPPS over many years) and who have retired. You should know if you are a life member. Life Members pay no membership fees.

Memberships are valid for a full calendar year starting April 1, and end March 31. SCAPPS invites new member sign-ups anytime of the year, and previous members will be sent an email reminder once membership expires.

Do I need to be a member to submit and abstract or to register for the conference?2023-02-21T02:44:16+00:00

Yes, abstracts will only be reviewed and accepted for presentation at the Annual Conference if submitted by members in good standing. If you would like to submit an abstract for review, you must renew your membership prior to submission.

Is there a reduced registration fee for members to attend the annual conference?2023-02-21T02:44:35+00:00

Currently you must be a member to attend the annual conference so yes – or no – depending on how you look at it.

Currently SCAPPS uses PayPal as its payment processor. You can pay through PayPal using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Debit transfer (if you have a Paypal account). A PayPal account is not necessary to complete payment.

Primary SCAPPS membership benefits include: Supporting the promotion of psychomotor learning and sport psychology; An ability to attend the annual conference; An ability to participate in SCAPPS business; Eligibility for SCAPPS awards.
